When visibility and precision matter most, the ZRG-F is the number one choice.
Learn MoreZ-LASER positioning lasers are used across many industries wherever materials or workpieces need to be aligned precisely. Typical sectors include the wood, metal, tire, and textile industries, as well as medical technology and logistics. Common applications include cut-line marking on saws and cutting machines, ply positioning during tire building, and patient positioning in medical imaging systems.
The human eye is significantly more sensitive to green light (520 nm) than to red light (635–685 nm). Green positioning lasers are therefore the better choice in bright ambient light or on low-contrast surfaces such as black rubber, wet stone, or patterned textiles. For standard applications on bright surfaces under normal lighting conditions, a red laser is technically sufficient and more cost-effective. Z-LASER offers both green and red positioning lasers.
For fixed integration into machines and production systems, the positioning lasers of the ZM18 family are ideal thanks to their compact, sensor-style design. The modules can be adapted to the specific requirements, are rated IP67, and are designed for continuous operation. They achieve an angular stability of < 15 µrad/°C, which is crucial for stable line projection under changing temperatures. For accurate installation, Z-LASER provides matching precision mounts with fine adjustment across multiple axes.
Positioning lasers project static geometries—such as a line, dot, or cross—for visual alignment in manufacturing processes, for example on saws or cutting machines. A laser projector (e.g., from the ZLP series) is an actively controlled projection system that projects 2D or 3D contours directly onto a workpiece based on CAD data. Laser projectors are used when complex geometric assembly steps need to be guided for the operator—such as in composite layup or for visualizing weld seams.
Z-LASER positioning lasers are classified according to EN 60825-1 and are available in laser classes 1M, 2, and 2M. Class 1M lasers are safe under normal operating conditions and do not require additional protective equipment. Class 2 lasers (visible, \leq 1 mW) are designed so that the natural blink reflex is sufficient to prevent injury from brief, accidental direct exposure. Z-LASER configures each laser with the power required for the application and the lowest possible laser class.
Yes. Z-LASER supplies OEM laser modules for patient positioning (CT, MRI, C-arm, X-ray), surgical applications, and radiation therapy. The lasers project precise lines or crosses as a reference directly onto the patient or instrument, enabling reproducible alignment and reducing the risk of repeat scans. Wavelength, optics, and housing are configured to match the application.
