You can protect yourself from avoidable harm by familiarizing yourself with the Accident Prevention Regulations (UVV):

UVV “Electrical Installations and Equipment” (BGV A2 / VBG 4)
UVV “Laser Radiation” (BGV B2 / VBG 93)
UVV “Safety Marking in the Workplace” (BGV A8 / VBG 125)
